Rina Lyampe

Rina Lyampe, in a matter of speaking, is a Renaissance woman: after moving to the US she continues teaching art, works as a  designer for numerous magazines, participates in solo and group exhibitions, illustrates books, oversees all aspects of “creating the scene” for a local theater - from stage construction to costume creation to the use of props. Her stamp designs are acknowledged and commended at annual philatelist society shows year after year. Nevertheless, painting remains Rina’s long-time passion that began in early childhood. At age five Rina wins a prestigious award at the international competition of children’s drawings and paintings held in Paris. She attends the art school in Moscow for gifted promising young artists and later graduates with honors from Moscow State Art College “In Memory of Year 1905”.
The mysterious process of transforming her original ideas and feelings into two-dimensional images on a piece of canvas wherein life within and of itself is captured has been mesmerizing to Rina. The expressive sound of her paintings is poignant and penetrating; this is a coded vibration of an artist’s soul aimed at the audience seeking to get in touch with its own subtle emotional feelings and experiences.
The characters depicted in Rina’s paintings are rooted in life itself: they are humbled by life’s wonders; they experience life’s sufferings and sorrows, life’s comfort and joy. Yet these characters never appear to be more than just tiny particles of incomprehensible, yet infinitely harmonic Universe, filled with mysteries, higher wisdom, divine love and compassion towards all of its living beings...
